The potential of religious tourism and the perspective to religious tourism of people in Kastamonu

This study based on tourism and the potential of religious tourism in Kastamonu, explained the aspects of Kastamonu such as history, social and touristic potential by describing tourism and the types of tourism. The purpose of the study was seeing the perspective to the religious tourism and providing necessary suggestions with taking opinions of domestic people in Kastamonu which has a religious tourism significantly contributing to the city tourism At first, the literature review about tourism and religious tourism was made to reveal conceptual foundations of the root of the study. By selecting people in Kastamonu as the scope of the study regardless of demographic features, 576 survey applications were made. The results were analyzed on the statistic program of SPSS. These results were interpreted by using Anova, Ki Kare, Levene's Homogeneity of Variance Test, T Test, Post Hoc LSD Test, Post Hoc Tamhane Test. At the end of the study, the perspectives and opinions about religious tourism in Kastamonu was took, it was mentioned what can be done for making progress, and as the result of the reports, it was achieved that the domestic people look positively towards religious tourism and support religious tourism in Kastamonu.
