Abstract (EN)
The objective of this study is to enhance the interest of renewable energy usage by benefiting from existing knowledge about hydrogen and fuel cells, in addition to that aim, to contribute improvements on the hydrogen energy and fuel cells technology in Turkey. Waste heat recovery, is becoming a noticeable research direction through researchers. The aim of this thesis is; utilizing of the waste heat occured during the operation of solid oxide fuel cell by using TE modules which is light, noiseless, can operate without problem of spare parts and having various application areas like defense, medical, etc. and operates by the principle of Seebeck effect to convert heat into electricity for workability of electrical power production system and for guiding to further studies. In order to investigate viability and experimental performance of the electical energy production system, protoype has been designed and experimental setup has been constructed. Experimental performance analysis were done by changing cooling fluid and flow rate of fluids. Through the experimental results and analysis, several suggestions for system performance improvement have been proposed which guide development of this experimental setup.
