Comparison of Katip Celebi and Galileo Galilei's conceptions on religion, science and philosophy

Our work XV-XVI. This is a comparative study that deals with the views of two important scientists, Kâtip Çelebi and Galileo Galilei, who lived in different geographies between the centuries, in the fields of religion, science and philosophy from an interdisciplinary perspective. The aim of this thesis, titled "Comparison of the Religion, Science and Philosophy Concepts of Katip Çelebi and Galileo Galilei", is to bring the study to the comparative literature by comparing the religion, science and philosophy understandings of Kâtip Çelebi and Galileo Galilei. In the research, it has been understood that the thought of religion, science and philosophy in the Middle Ages, both in Islam and in the Western world, was fed, influenced and influenced by religious authorities and thoughts, and in this direction, it was understood that the fields of religion, science and philosophy were explained. In this context, it is understood that Kâtip Çelebi and Galileo Galilei shaped their own thoughts and studies on religion, science and philosophy during their time. In the research, the influence and effectiveness of religion, religious thought, religious authorities, science, scientific and philosophical view, as well as political power in many important areas have been understood. Thus, it was concluded that bigotry and bigotry, which are assumed to belong to religion or accepted as religion, delay progress and innovations. Findings such as the importance of critical view and thought, what superstitious beliefs and assumptions cost, and the importance of knowledge and science have emerged. In the first part of the study, the meaning and function of the concepts of religion, science and philosophy in Islamic and Western thought are discussed by making a comparison. In the second part, the period in which Katip Çelebi and Galileo Galilei lived, their scientific identities and their understanding of religion, science and philosophy are compared. In the study, descriptive scanning model and qualitative research methods, document review and content analysis were used. Thus, the thoughts of both Katip Çelebi and Galilei Galileo on the concepts of religion, science and philosophy of both their periods and the two scientists were reached with an inductive method.
