Abstract (EN)

Doped conductive polymers have been used as coating materials in a wide range of applications in the textile industry recently thanks to improved materials and modern production techniques. In daily life, many people are exposed to radiation through the use of electrical and electronic devices at home or at work. The harmful rays emitted by these electronic devices negatively affect the lives of many living things. In this thesis, in order to minimize this situation, a study was conducted on absorbing electromagnetic waves by coating cotton fabric samples with doped polymers and measuring the degree of electromagnetic shielding.Polyurethane (PU) and polyethylene (PE) were used as doped polymers, boron oxide (B2O3) and epoxy resin were used as shielding auxiliary materials.PU, PU+B2O3, PE and PE+B2O3 as 4 different component analyses, the effects of irradiation were investigated by spectroscopic methods. These studies were carried out using the chemical polymerization method under atmospheric conditions. In addition, the density values of the fabrics were calculated. The density of the raw fabric was found to be 0.660 g/cm3. In addition, the treatedfabrics densities, PU 0.93 g/cm3, PU+B2O3 1.097 g/cm3, PE 0.80 g/cm3 and PE+B2O3 0.944 g/cm3 were measured. As a result, it was observed that the densities of the fabrics increased even more with the addition of B2O3 substance. The analyses performed under these conditions were examined with FT-IR, SEM+EDX and EMSE (Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness). In the studies performed by FT-IR method, C-H, C-O, C=C, N-H and O-H bonds were observed and characteristic peaks were obtained.Microstructural properties were investigated with SEM+EDX. Only Carbon (C) and Oxygen (O) were found during the analysis. Absorption, Reflection and Transmittance Measurements were examined in EMSE.As a result of the values, it was concluded that the fabric coated with PU+B2O3 has better shielding compared to other components, it is 43 dB at 1275 MHz. These values are well categorized for professional use. In this context, it is understood that if these positive results obtained are taken into account depending on the targeted study, there is a potential to make significant contributions.
