Abstract (EN)

In view of today'; increasing of the transportation need, brings a great problem in urban and rural highways together. Thus, automotive industry within an increasing development, has been caused highway transportation to become higher percentages in transportation and also caused a world wide traffic and transportation problem. In recent days, there is a need to put in order the interchanges for decreasing the density of traffic in the centre of the cities, increasing the volume of traffic and providing the safety of the roads. The research work, interchanges and ramps through to solution of the traffic problem which are characterized by the highest safety and volume of traffic capasity level when compared with other types of intersections in rural and urban highways, has been observed. In the research; types of interchanges, site condition reasons to design, the principals of design designation, features of ramps and interchange of Altunizade's plans and designs are examined. In this work, design speed and minimum curve radius due to geometrical design criterias in ramps has been analysed. Due to research; interchanges have been classificated into six basic types and are compared to each other. By the research; driver behaviors, vehicle characteristics and physical and social changes due to needs of region's volume of traffic capasity and importance of traffic research has been observed. As a result the necessity and sufficiency of interchange applications in highways has been analysed. Keywords: interchanges, ramps, traffic volume, curve, highway.
