Özet (EN)

In this study the design and analysis of deployable composite reflector antenna for earth observation mission is presented. ¼ scale prototype of the reflector is manufactured. This prototype reflector is folded and provides self-deployment; and hence the design principles are observed. Full-scale reflector is modeled using the Abaqus finite element modeling software. Thickness of the reflector surface and the types of support elements are taken as design parameters. Mechanical performance of the reflector is obtained in the analyses. In the analyses, the reflector weight, natural frequency, material damage under static load and buckling are taken into account.A result of this analysis the most appropriate design is determined. Cut-outs are introduced in the reflector to lighten it. The performance improvements are realized by the reflector with cut-outs.Positive effect on the performance of the reflector is observed by varying type and dimension of support elements and by introducing cut-outs.Key words: Satellite, Reflector, Abaqus, Composite Material
