Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, a new solidification assisted liquid-liquid microextraction method was developed for determination of nickel in water samples. Determination of nickel was performed by microinjection system assisted flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Caprilic acid was used as extraction solvent and 1-Phenylthiosemicarbazide was used as complexing agent. Dispersion and separation of caprylic acid in the water samples were provided by acid-base addition. The parameters affecting the microextraction technique, such as added acid-base concentration and volume, volume of extraction solvent, amount of ligand, effect of matrix ions, sample volume were optimized. Under optimized conditions, detection limit (3.2 μg L-1), limit of quantification (10.0 μg L-1), relative standard deviation (2.0 %) and preconcentration factor (45) were calculated, respectively. The developed solidification assisted liquid-liquid microextraction method was successfully applied to tap waters, river water and some bottled water samples.
