The effects of the bank loans marketed by participation banks and private banks on some macroeconomic indicators: The case of Turkey

The bank sector is the most important activator in Turkey like the whole part of the world. Day by day the importance of the bank sector is increasing in the fast developing world economy. The most basic product of banks are the loans that are gathered by banks from savers, and banks make the one in need use these extra funds.There is a close relationship between loan amount, increasing speed and macroeconomic indicators. The increasing of loan amount makes buying easier, and so it effects so many indicators significantly. Funds which aren?t used must be included into the financial system in order to boost the effectiveness of credit market.In this study, it was found that credits that participation banks market are so effective on GDP and household final consumption; on the other hand, credits that private banks market are so effective on import, export and investment. The effects of the loans supplied in Turkey on macroeconomic indicators between 1992?2009 is examined with help of multiple regression analysis. In the analysis, dependent and independent variables with their logaritmic values have been used and all the samples have been set up in log-log form. In conclussion, the loans marketed by participation banks and private capital banks are affective as expected on the chosen macroeconomic indicators.Key Words: Financial System, Loan, The Participation Banks, The Private Banks, Macroeconomic Indicators, Regression Analysis.
