Protecti̇on of pipes from corrosion with cathodic protection

In this thesis, the corrosion phenomenom occurred in the pipelines was examined and if precautions are not taken, the damage and energy loss to the country's economy was explained. All varieties of corrosion have been given and the realization phases are explained in detail with the necessary literature studies. In order to reduce losses in energy sources that are already limited, some studies aimed at preventing corrosion occurred in pipes have been taken and the necessary precautions have been followed during these phases and the problems that may be encountered during these phases have been explained. If the correct method is not applied, it has been observed that the material losses could be increased by giving place to the problems that may be encountered. The benefits of cathodic protection applications are mentioned and the scope of cathodic protection is mentioned. Cathodic protection projects have been included and current requirements for protection have been determined and the selection of the type of cathodic protection has been made accordingly. All the elements needed for cathodic protection have been mentioned in detail and the explanations of all the elements needed by the system have been made in a wide and comprehensible way. In order to prevent these corrosion losses, which are too important to be ignored in our country and in our world, we have explained in detail what to do.
