Abstract (EN)

Aggregates are one of the primary building materials used in the world. İt is extremely important to know the properties of rocks that break into aggregates. Because the properties of aggregates such as structure durability of aggregates and grain shape, directly depend on the mineralogical, textural and engineering properties of the rock from which the aggregate derive. In other words, many aggregate properties, particularly the fracture shape, which significantly affect the uses of aggregates, depend on the structural properties of the parent rock, and a prior knowledge of them or their prediction is a key factor that will directly affect the quality and economic life of the aggregate where it is used. In this study, four types of building block residues were selected as specimens and the mineralogical and textural properties of these residues were investigated. In addition, the fracture shapes, physical and mechanical properties of the aggregates, obtained from these residual rocks, were determined and the relations between the physico-mechanical properties, mineralogical and petrographic properties of the aggregates and the fracture shapes of the aggregates were analysed using statistical methods.
