Abstract (EN)

This thesis study has aimed at the investigation of the synthesis of carbon nano tube, which is the material of the 21st century, from a sustainable biomass of apricot stone with the most promising method of chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In this study the effects of the depositon material, carrier gas flow rate, reaction temperature and time were investigated in different type of reactor to growth of carbon nano tube. The structural/morphological features of the carbon product illustrated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The graphitic character has been evaluated by means of XRD analyses. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller-based N2 gas adsorption studies were performed to determine the surface area and pore volume of the carbon nanotubes. Detailed investigations on the growth conditions indicate that toluen assistant CVD method which is carried out in 2,5 cm ID tubular reactor with quartz road inside; 400-900˚C reaction temperature, 100 mL/min argon gas flow, 48 hour reaction time are the best conditions for achieving high-quality carbon nanotubes from apricot stone
