The poetry book Kökşetaw of the kazakh poet Säken Seyfullin -translation and survey according to language and style-

In this dissertation, the book ?Kökşetaw Poema? of Säken Seyfullin, who was a leading figure in the process of Russianizing the Kazakh literature, is examined with regard to its language and style. The dissertation is composed of two main chapters: Introduction and Analysis. ?Introduction? chapter contains Säken Seyfullin?s life and his literary significance, his literary works and knowledge about Kökşetaw Poema. In the ?text? part of the ?Introduction? chapter, the text of Kazakh Turkish, which has been transcripted, and its translation to Turkish of Turkey are given on opposite pages. In this way it is aimed to make it possible for researchers to compare the Kazakh Turkish and Turkish of Turkey. In this text, which has been translated into Turkish of Turkey, there are stories, tales and legends that Säken Seyfullin compiled from the Kökşetaw region. The poet, Säken Seyfullin, adapted the plots of these stories, tales and legends to the era of the Kazakh Khan Abılay. In this manner he criticized the way of life of the Kazakhs before the Soviet dicta and he emphasized the concepts of humanism, like brotherhood of the nations, friendship, egalitarianism and liberty. The ?Analysis? chapter is composed of two parts: ?Summary of the Poema? and ?Language and Style?. The ?Language and Style? part is divided into those sections: adapted words, kinds of words and their frequency of usage, groups of words, idioms and proverbs, repetitions and literary arts. The dissertation is completed with a ?Conclusion? chapter in which a general evaluation is done. At the end of the dissertation, an extensive bibliography is presented.
