Abstract (EN)
The aim of this in vitro study is to evaulate remineralization activity of casein phosphopeptide amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), enamel matrix derivatives (Emdogain) and fluoride on human permanent teeth enamel. For this purpose, 5 experimental groups [control (K), fluoride (F), CPP-ACP (C), Emdogain (E) ve C+E], which had 10 enamel samples each group, were formed. The all samples were placed in demineralization solution for four days to produce artificial carious lesions F, calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) content and Ca/P ratios were calculated by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Remineralization agents were applied during 7 days according to the experimental groups. After remineralization, the mineral content of the samples was measured using SEM-EDX again. Morphological changes occurring on the surface were evaluated with scanning electron microscope (SEM). All data were analyzed statistically. Mineral contents of samples were not statistically significant differences between the groups after demineralization (p>0.05). After remineralization, F values in F, C and C+E groups, Ca values in F, C, E and C+E groups, P values in only C group and %Ca/P ratios in F, C, E and C+E groups were increased significantly (p<0.05). The highest levels of F value in F group, Ca value in C group and %Ca/P ratio in C+E group were measured. EDX findings were supported with SEM images. As a result, remineralization agents which applied in the all experimental groups, have a positive impact. To use CPP-ACP with Emdogain together has increased the effectiveness of remineralization of these agents. Therefore, combined use of CPP-ACP and Emdogain may be an alternative treatment for providing remineralization of enamel.
