The life of Kâzim Nami Duru his works and helpings to the teaching of Turkish

The beginning years of the Republic was the period in which intellectuals dominatecl education system in this period, intellectuals became the leaderships of the structural changings in which they had duties. Kâzım Nami Duru, who was one of these intellectuals and who gave directions to our education-history with his ideas,made many reforms. Kâzım Nami Duru put forward ideas about general aims of Turhish National Education, educationing of teachers, professional morals of teachers, pedagogics education, the nation of education, secular education, teaching of Turhish, teaching of History. He made important additions to the application of education in that time. These ideas are very important because they tell about the state of education and teaching of Turhish today and yesterday. The results which arised from the total datums can be summarized in this way; Kâzım Nami Duru has lived both in the period of Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic; and he was the wittness of many progress. He took many duties in the management of the country as a military officer, journalist, politician, literaturist and educator. But all the time, being an educator was the important and he gave service in the many parts of education. He said that we were unsuccersful in the teaching of foreing language because we don?t know our native language very well. He made many workings about the teaching of Turhish. He ciriticized the teaching&learning by heart and he explained that this method hamper the development of personality and the development of the character of he child. Kâzım Nami Duru has taken part in different positions in Turkish Education System and has contributed important helps. He put forward ideas, which are to make education system contemporary and these ideas are available even today.
