Özet (EN)

CBRN events are accidental or deliberately occurring by the release of dangerous chemical, biological, radioactive, nuclear agents and negative effects. The first responders are the teams that will prevent the growth of the negative effects of the incident by performing harm reduction activities from the first moment of the CBRN events. Hazardous CBRN substances that may be present at the scene may put their first responders at risk. The aim of this study is to measure the risk perceptions of some teams involved in the first intervention in CBRN events against the hazards at the scene and to evaluate the relationship between their attitudes towards pre-event preparation. The study was carried out on 140 people who have accepted to take part in the intervention in Adana province, rescue, detection, decontamination, gendarmerie and fire brigade workers. As a data collection tool, risk perception and preparedness scale for CBRN hazards has been established. Data were analyzed with SPSS 22 package program. Arithmetic mean, percentage, standard deviation and frequency distribution values are given. One way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis Test and Independent Sample T-Test were used to compare the means. In order to investigate the relations, Simple Linear Correlation Analysis was used. At the end of the study, the level of risk perception of CBRN incident hazards of participants (4,09) and preparedness levels for CBRN events (3,71) was found to be high with mean score. It was found that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between CBRN crime risk perception levels and preparedness levels.
