Ethnobotanical research in Kıbrıs village (Ankara) and its surroundings

This study is a research that contributes to the collection of the documentation of ethnobotanical knowledge held by local people living in and around the Kıbrıs village within the borders of Ankara province. The necessary information for the research was obtained by interviewing 50 people. The study revealed how local people have integrated local plants into their daily lives, based on the questions. According to the results obtained, there are 41 species belonging to 23 different families. The Rosaceae family has the most species variety with 10 different plants in the study. When the total number of uses of 41 plant species identified as a result of the research was examined, 18 were for food, 8 for treatment purposes, 10 for food and treatment purposes, 3 for food and others, and 2 for treatment purposes and others. Based on the intended use of the plants, the vast majority of local people prefer to consume plants as food. It is thought that economic and environmental conditions may be the reason why local people prefer plants primarily as a food source in their lives.
