Abstract (EN)

The Cyprus Conflict has been an international highlighted matter since the ages from the depths of history. The ongoing matter has not been solved for decades because of the island's geopolitical position. The domineer Powers of the World give such importance to the Cyprus Conflict as the island reigns the transportation of Middle Eastern oil resources, the route from Middle East to Africa, Anatolia, Middle East and the Pasific Ocean and controls the sea route from the Suez Canal to the Indian and Pasific Ocean. The island is also capable of being a storage in a probable oil-based war scenerio. As well as the Cypriot Turks and the Cypriot Greeks; Greece, Turkey, USA, EU and especially Israel lately are also involved in the conflict because of the continental shelf, restricted economic zone and oil-natural gas issues in the island. In 2004, the Annan Plan which promised establishing a federal system on the island, was accepted by the Turkish Cypriots, yet been rejected by the Greek Cypriots. Today in 2015, negotiations keep being held and also this period has been the closest to a solution since the Cypriot Annan Plan. The political systems and their posibilities of implement has been examined and the possibility of two independent states has been considered here in this thesis to finally approach the right solution for the Cyprus Conflict.
