The Water Quality of Ağın Region Keban Dam Lake

In this study water quality of Ağın Region of Keban Dam Lake were investigated. For this purpose water samples were collected at monthly interval between December 2013 and November 2014. During the investigation, the water temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, and dissolved oxygen concentration were determined by the measurements performed in the field whilst the values of the chemical parameters including suspended solids, total hardness, alkalinity, sulpahate, silica, ammonium, chlorine, chemical oxygen demand (COD), nitrite, nitrate, total nitrogen and total phosphorus were determined through analysis performed in the laboratory. All the results apart from chlorine supported that Ağın Region of Keban Dam Lake has I class water quality. The data obtained were statistically analysed for evaluation and the results were compared with those of similar studies conducted previously.
