Özet (EN)

In this study, the seasonal changes of blood glucose level of C. trutta obtained from Keban Dam Lake were investigated between November 2006 and October 2007.Reproduction period of C. trutta living in Keban Dam Lake was found May-June by means of gonadosomatic index, eggs diameter, condition factor. While blood glucose level in males was determined maximum (107.92 mg/dL) in age 5 and minimum (42.10 mg/dL) in age 7, that in female was determined maximum (197.32 mg/dL) in age 2 and minimum (39.42 mg/dL) in age 7. Multiple comparative testes showed that there were no significant differences in glucose level depending on ages in both males and females (P>0.05). Blood glucose levels in males were found 116.38 mg/dL in April (in month just before starting of reproduction), 44.87 and 65.93 in May and June (reproduction months) respectively. However, those in females were found 114.61 mg/dL in April (in month just before starting of reproduction), 24.53 and 30.29 in May and June (reproduction months) respectively. Blood glucose levels in May, June and July (months with higher temperatures) were found 44.87, 65.93 and 60.51 mg/dL in males and 24.53, 30.29 and 33.46 mg/dL in females respectively.Key Words: Capoeta trutta, Reproduction period, Blood glucose level
