Abstract (EN)
Fırat River and dam lakes build on its have been used as drinkinking water source by many settlement. Municipalities surrounded on this area plan this river as future drinking water source.Fırat River has been polluted by the different sources. The municipalities on this area has directly discharged their wastewater to Fırat River or the dam lakes. In addition, both agricultural and industrial activities have been affected Fırat River polluted. In this study, microfiltration and reverse osmosis were used for treatment of Keban Dam Lake water. Some parameters on influent and effluent such as pH, alkalinity, conductivity, hardness, TOC and potential of disinfection byproduct formation were monitored. The microfiltration membrane with pore sizes of 1, 5 and 10 mikron was used and the reverse osmosis was operated at pressures of 11, 11.5 and 12.1 atm The parameters such as alkalinity, hardness, UV, TOC and DBPs were removed about 95 %. Fırat River can be used as drinking water source after treatment and microbiology analysis.
