Abstract (EN)

In this study, the leaf, fruit and core parts of Ceratonia siliqua L. , one of the fruits rich in antioxidant, antidiarrheal, antihyperlipidemia and antidiabetic activities, were evaluated. With the data obtained within the scope of the study, it was aimed to contribute to the illumination of the medicinal properties of Ceratonia siliqua L. plant. Folin-Ciocalteu method was used to determine the total phenolic content of Ceratonia siliqua L. The amount of phenolic substance contained in the dried fruit of Ceratonia siliqua L. was determined to be between 1.21% and 23.40%, and 47.48% in the dry leaf. Aluminum chloride colorimetric method was preferred for the determination of total flavonoid amount. Ceratonia siliqua L. dried fruit was found to contain between 0.01% and 4.96% and 3.79% flavonoid in the dry leaf. The European Pharmacopoeia method was used to determine the amount of tannins. 0.73% in seeds; Tannin was detected at a rate of 0.44% in all fruit. The amount of phenolic and saponin detected in different solvents of Ceratonia siliqua L. fruit, seedless fruit and seeds were obtained, varying approximately 10-20 times compared to seedless fruit of plant seeds. According to findings obtained in Turkey, especially that grows wild in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, increasing the importance of nutrition in recent years Ceratonia siliqua L. plant, we were given recommendations on the evaluation of the core and increasing the diversity of products on the market.
