Özet (EN)
The aim of this study is to report the clinical success of the treatment of animals that have undergone maggot debridement treatment in the Muğla region. The patient's age, race, gender, body weight, type of trauma-lesion, drugs used before, during and after maggot application, treatment methods and clinical results will be recorded in detail. The clinical success of maggot debridement treatment will be demonstrated. In the study, maggot debridement treatment was performed on various wounds of 1 dog and 15 cats. These wounds, which have a wide variety of etiologies, were used in both debridement and disinfection stages in the planned number and time according to the condition of the animal. Wound healing was recorded within the wound areas and macroscopic features of the wounds on certain days. Debridement occurred in all wounds from the first application. As a result, maggot debridement therapy is cheap, easy and effective as a wound healing method that can be used in cats and dogs. Further studies are needed.
