Abstract (EN)
The aim of the this study was to reveal the role of the antimüllerian hormon in the folliculogenesis and course of the AMH following the ovariohysterectomy. The study was carried out in 20 healthy female cats aged between 5 and 48 months, weighing 3.070.5 kg. Cats were classified according to sexual cycle, age and body weight. For the determination of serum antimullerian hormone (AMH), E2, P4, FSH and LH levels, blood samples were taken before the operation (day 0) and on the p.o 3th and 10th days postoperatively (p.o). Detection of AMH expression in ovarian follicles was performed by immunohistochemical method. It was observed that there was a decrease in postoperative AMH levels compared to the preoperative level (p<0.05). It was observed that the period of the sexual cycle, age and body weight did not affect the AMH level. While a negative correlation was detected between serum FSH and LH levels on the 3th postoperative days (p<0.01), a positive correlation was observed between AMH and LH levels (p<0.05). A positive correlation was found between serum E2 and P4 levels on the 3th postoperative days (p<0.05). A positive correlation was detected between serum E2 and FSH levels on 10th postoperative days (p<0.05). A negative correlation was found between serum AMH and E2 levels (p<0.05). A negative correlation was found between serum AMH and FSH levels on the 10th postoperative days (p<0.001). It was observed that serum E2 levels decreased on p.o 3th days compared to 0th days, but approached preoperative levels on p.o 10th day. A decrease was observed in serum P4 levels starting from the p.o 3th days (p<0.05). It was observed that serum E2 values were similar in oestrus and diestrus periods, but lower in anoestrus periods (p<0.05). Serum P4 values were similar in anoestrus and estrus periods, but higher in diestrus periods (p<0.05). Serum FSH values increased on p.o 3th days compared to 0th days; It was determined that LH values increased at p.o 10th days compared to 0th day (p<0.05). In immunohistochemical analyzes, it was determined that AMH was first produced in primary follicles, and the highest immunopositivity was observed in the antral follicle stage. AMH immunopositivity was not observed in thecal and interstitial cells, but a mild (+1) AMH immunopositivity was observed in atretic follicles.
