Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine whether theological paradigms are effective on tafsir. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of kalam on the interpretations of verses by Razi, Mâturîdî, Zemahşerî and Tusi, based on the commentaries of Tabari and Mukâtil, who are the first period commentators. The research consists of four parts. In the introduction, information about the subject, scope, purpose, importance, method and sources of the research is presented. A literature review of the research is also included. In the first chapter, information about the classification of sciences in the Islamic scientific tradition has been given, and the place of the science of kalam in these classifications has been tried to be determined. In the second part, the paradigmatic effect of kalam on tafsir is examined. In the third chapter, the methodological effect of kalam on tafsir has been tried to be revealed. In the fourth chapter, the reflection and effect of theological issues on the tafsir literature are discussed. As a result of our research, it has been determined that the science of kalam has a dominant effect on the science of tafsir as it defends the Islamic thought. The commentaries of Razi, Maturidi, Zamahshari and Tusi, who belong to Ash'ari, Maturidi, Mu'tazila and Shia (Imamiyye) theological schools, were examined, especially the self-adjective relationship of the mentioned commentators, khabaric attributes, whether the Qur'an was created or not, freedom of man, innocent of the prophets, visibility of God etc. It has been seen that they interpreted the verses of the Qur'an by taking into account their theological sensitivities. Keywords: Tafsir, Interpretation, Kalam, Qur'an, Verse, School, Faith.
