Analysis of methods and books based on Turkish music repertoire used in violin education

Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to examine the methods and album books based on the Turkish music repertoire used in violin education in Turkey, under various titles in terms of content. In the descriptive research which is in the scanning model; the series, etudes and works in the method and books on the subject were analyzed in terms of musical elements. In this context, the data of the research were obtained by document analysis method. The sample of the research consists of 27 violin methods and album books that are available in the related literature, published in the form of book printing. An analysis form was created as a data collection tool during the analysis of the data in the research. Methods and the works in the album books were grouped according to their genres, considering various criteria, according to this analysis form. The obtained findings were presented in tables and graphics by determining the frequencies and percentages. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that the number of methods and album books based on the Turkish Violin Literature is quantitatively few and that new studies are needed in this area.
