Abstract (EN)
In this study, literature survey of arch dams and their analysis methods were first discussed, followed by the investigations of the fundamental equations to use the finite element method. By the use of quadrilateral, stretched plate elements and cantilever beam, an arc dam, for the cases of empty, half-full and full reservoirs, was analysed to determine stress and displacement distributions. Numerical results and comparisions were included and a good concordance was observed between these results. Key Words: Dams, Arc Dams, Finite Element Method, Analysis, Stresses, Displacements.
