Özet (EN)

Myelodysplastic Sendrome and Myeloproliferative Neoplasia are both clonal hematopoietic stem cell diseases. In the present study, 30 MDS, 29 MPN and 30 histologically normal bone marrow biopsies obtained from the archieve of Dicle University Pathology Departmant between the years 2007-2010 were used. All the parafin slides were stained immunohistologically with CD34,CD117 and b-catenin.In both MDS and MPN cases, staining percentage with CD34 was significantly higher when compared with the control cases (p<0.001,p<0.001). No significantly differance was seen in staining density between all the groups (p=0.06). Contol group showed significantly lower staining percentage with CD117 and b-katenin when compared with MDS and MPN cases (p<0.001,p<0.001). Staining pattern with CD117 did not show a significantly differance between all groups (p=0.09). Among three groups there was no significantly differance in staining density with b-catenin (p=0.32).In conclusion, CD34 is still the most reliable immunmarker to show blasts and progenitor cells in the diseases like MDS and MPN. CD117 shows higher sensivity particularly for myeloid blasts and progenitors, so it would be so useful when used together with CD34. B-catenin could not show the same success that performed in other hematologic diseases. More studies are needed for investigating the role of b-catenin in MDS and MPN.
