Abstract (EN)
This study is conducted to evaluate the relationship between nutritional status and quality of life in adults between the ages of aged 18-80 years who have consulted the Acıbadem Kayseri Hospital medical oncology outpatient clinic and received chemotherapy. A total of 147 participants, 82 of whom are women and 65 are men, have been included in the study. The socio-demographic characteristics of the participants were obtained through face-to-face interviews using a questionnaire formed by reviewing the literature. Anthropometric measurements were made by the clinician in the hospital. Nutritional status has been determined using the Patient Generated subjective Global Assessment: PG-SGA scale. The Quality of Life Assessment Scale (European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer QLQ_C30: EORTC QLQ-C30) has been used to measure the quality of life. There is a negative linear relationship between malnutrition risk levels and general health, functional and global life scores of the participants within the scope of the study (p<0.05). As the risk of malnutrition level of the participants increases, the scores of general health, functional and global life levels decrease. There is a positive linear relationship between the malnutrition risk levels of the participants' and their physical, role, emotional, social, symptom, fatigue, nausea, pain, dyspnea, sleep disturbance, anorexia, diarrhea and financial impact scores (p<0.05). As the risk of malnutrition increases, so do physical, role, emotional, social, symptom, fatigue, nausea, pain, dyspnea, sleep disturbance, anorexia, diarrhea and financial impact scores also increase. There is no significant correlation has been found between the other scale scores.
