Abstract (EN)
Innovations in concrete technology, have lead us to the production of high performance concrete in terms of strength and durability. The mechanical performance of concrete depends on many factors, such as material properties and their proportions as well as fresh concrete properties and curing conditions. Conventional fresh concrete should be compacted in situ; however various vibration problems seriously affect the performance of hardened concrete. Self compacting concrete (SCC) consists basically of the same components as normal vibrated concrete, however, there exist clear differences regarding the concrete composition. To achieve excellent self compactability in heavily reinforced areas, SCC should deform well under its own weight without segregation of ingredients. Therefore, research on SCC had been focused on improving both deformability and resistance to segregation. However, there was still no standard test for evaluating self compactability and resistance to segregation of SCC. Originally developed to offset a growing shortage of skilled labour, it has proved beneficial economically because of a number of factors, including, faster construction, reduction in site manpower, better surface finishes, easier placing, improved durability, greater freedom in design, thinner concrete sections, reduced noise levels, absence of vibration, safer working environment. In this study, the effects of aggregate type on SCC mechanical properties was investigated, because of that, it has been concluded by making experiments on fresh and hardened concrete. On the test, CEM I 42.5 R style cement, natural aggregate from Elazığ Palu region and broken stone have been used. Ferrokrom powder, belonging to Elazığ Eti Krom A.?., in effluent condition which can be assured in the region easily, has been used for tests with sieving from 125? sifter. ViscoCrote 3080 VP admixture has been used as chemicals. In this study, 4 series of concrete cube, cylinder and beam specimens, of which the aggregate size is 16mm and concrete specimens that 350 and 400 dosage are tested.
