The changes of 'urban open green areas' dispersions in historical process: Trabzon city Boztepe-Ganita example

The cities are the most changeable lands of the world through time because they grow or dwindle with the immigrations or emigrations. As the uncontrolled growths change the cities and especially the city centers, the changes that are against the occurred projections cause the decrease of `urban open green areas? day after day. These factors cause a change in the relationship between the construction places, that is masses, and `open green areas?, that is, spaces and it also causes the destroy of spatial balance. Besides, these changes in the cities cause dissociation of `open green areas? togetherness and permanentness and its turning out to be sectional and scattered. As a result of these alterations, `the open and green areas? in Trabzon city center started to change. These changes have important factors on; not being able to be successful urban designs from `the open green areas? of the city. In this thesis statement it is aimed how changed `the dispersion of spatial relations of `open green places? in cities altered because of time?. It is also aimed that determining whether these places are successful urban designs or not as a consequence of these alterations.By making a literary research about the works on `urban open green areas? and urban designs, information about these works is given. Besides, the relationship between the concepts of urban design and the `open green areas? has been explained. So by taking advantage of urban design theories, the research model has been presented with a scientific approach. In this model, the necessary concepts for `open green areas about city? to be successful urban designs have been determined. How these defined concepts differentiate in the process of change in `open green areas in urban? has been researched with application studies. The application studies have three stages.In the first and the second stages of the application part, it was determined how the dispersion of `the open green areas? (urban design concepts) in Trabzon city center changed in the historical process. In the third stage, it was determined in which level ?the necessary quality value that successful urban designs should do in the available `urban open green areas? was supplied. Thus, by analyzing all of the information, examining of the hypothesis was aimed. In conclusion; the spatial dispersions of available `open green areas? in Trabzon city center is to determine the successful or unsuccessful spatial features of the functions and to develop a suggestion about `open green areas? arterial road with the findings.
