Urban transformation and a proposal for Alanya Friday market place area

The development of civilization has increased the expectations of people both from the housing they live in and from the infrastructure and superstructure services provided in the region where they live. Especially in developing countries such as Turkey the existing structures do not meet the expectations fully and therefore urban transformation becomes necessary. In this study, an urban transformation application proposal has been developed for the region called Cuma Pazar in Alanya. In this context, first the current situation of the region was determined by conducting archive scans and field surveys. Then, with the help of Delphi Method, opinions of both the citizens living in that region and the experts in the field of urban transformation were taken. As a result of the study, it was proposed to move the market place and bus stop to underground and built commercial buildings on them, and to convert the existing wedding hall into a cultural center in order to address the city square and the school district.
