Abstract (EN)

Construction waste caused by the transformations of cities causes many environmental and economic problems in our country and around the world. As the reasons such as insecurity of existing buildings, incompatibility with urban planning and inadequacy of increasing population gain importance in today's conditions, the number of buildings that need to be transformed increases day by day and brings along a series of problems. Considering all of these, recycling of these wastes will play an important role both in reducing the problems arising from the current wastes and in meeting the need for raw materials to be used in the production of new materials. Most of the construction wastes are concrete wastes. Concrete wastes also contain 65-75% aggregate by volume. Most of the aggregate needed in all concrete products is natural stone materials obtained from river, sea, lake beds or quarries. Considering that natural resources are not infinite, the importance of recycling aggregates obtained from concrete products increases one more time.In landscaping with the increase of urbanism, on roads where traffic density is low with the expansion of transportation networks; The use of prefabricated concrete coating elements is gaining importance. To meet all these needs, millions of paving stones are produced during the day, and tons of aggregate are used in their production.Since the aggregate obtained from construction waste and the aggregate content of the prefabricated concrete pavement element to be used in park and road pavements will increase proportionally over time, the use of recycled materials will help to eliminate the problems mentioned above. In this study, with the idea of eliminating the aforementioned problems, concrete wastes obtained from urban transformation projects in Tokat city Merkez district were turned into aggregate in accordance with the standards, and by using 25%, 50%, 75%, prefabricated concrete coating elements were produced. According to the 1334 specification, conformity tests [size and appearance, strength determination (shrinkage in splitting), determination of water absorption rate, determination of resistance to abrasion, determination of resistance to freeze-thaw due to de-icing salt] were performed. According to the experimental results; As the production is done with the press-mold method, it did not cause big differences in terms of size, and due to the properties of the GDA in the parquet, the specification criteria in strength, water absorption, abrasion resistance and freeze-thaw values could not be achieved.
