Abstract (EN)

Since the 19th century, cities have become the center of physical, social, cultural, economic and political issues, passing through a process of change and transformation. Cities have become more and more complex each day and they have affected by the social, economic and political movements. Therefore, the governments have developed some urban interventions to solve these problems. Today, central and local authorities in Turkey present urban regeneration as a solution to urban issues. This work, aims to reconcile the historical process of urban regeneration and urbanization in Turkey and then to discuss the coherence of urban regeneration practices in Turkey with social justice.
