History protected in urban transformation, the transformed city of Erzurum model: Mumcu neighborhood urban transformation and development project area review

Since the past, all cities have been subject to many changes as they try to understand the ideologies they have. All interventions to cities have resulted in unplanned, impulsive development, problematic transportation, unhealthy environment, high risk of disaster damage settlements, incomplete infrastructure, unlicensed, Project-free, uncontrolled construction and disrupting the urban plan. All of this resulted in an urban transformation needed to improvethe city's esthetic and quality of life lost over time. Urban transformation can be defined as a comprehensive action that creates solutions to problems in cities and tries to bring permanent solutions to the physical, economic and social conditions of a changed region. The aim of this study is to examine the conceptual infrastructure of urban transformation that has led to the transformation of cities and to examine the upper Mumcu neighborhood, Urban Transformation and Development Project area in Erzurum. Interms of protected history, the protection of historical structures will be covered by including the restoration Project of Erzurum Çifte Minareli Medrese and Erzurum Castle and its surroundings. The aim of the study is that urban transformation is not just a spatial transformation but also because of many cultural and socio-economic changes, the quality of urban life is positively affected.
