An analysis of social aspects of urban transportation (Ayazma- Tepeustu Urban Transformation Project)

The purpose of this study has been aimed to analyze the positive and negative aspects of "Ayazma – Tepüstü Urban Transformation Project" by featuring the social concept of "Urban Transportation" which had been longtime neglected or forgotten . Therefore, the subject of the thesis has specially been determined as "An Analysis of Social Aspects of Urban Transportation (Ayazma- Tepeustu Urban Transformation Project). In the thesis, it has been initially dwelled on the negative effects of urbanization by discussing the concepts of Urban and Urbanization. In further parts of it, the history and methods of Urban Transformation are explained. The issues, such as The purpose of the urban transformation, applications forms, type, and development of it in Turkey, social acceptance of renewal and development of it in Turkey, have been featured in a restricted form, which will contribute sufficiently to the principle of the subject. Since the urban transformation is realized and based on the resources and academic studies on the social profiles of the people, who live in the area subject to the urban transformation; all data and relevant questionnaires have been referred in this study. In the results part of thesis, respective comparison works on the social dimensions of the project, from the point of parties, have been made, and advices have been given on the matters, which have been considered as relatively poor.
