Examination of urban life quality by resident foreigners in Alanya

In today's conditions, cities are faced with many problems as a result of population increases and uncontrolled growth. Physical, economic and environmental destructions in the city negatively affect the quality of urban life. Based on this problem, in this study, it is aimed to determine the extent to which the needs of resident foreigners in Alanya are met by evaluating the quality of urban life through physical, economic and environmental criteria and to offer solutions according to the results obtained. As a result of the factor analysis of the quality of urban life scale, five dimensions were determined: facilities and services, environmental factors, social aspects, personal situation of people and security. When the research findings are examined, the average of the participation of the resident foreigners on the quality of urban life in Alanya shows that their perceptions are generally positive and they are satisfied with the city life in Alanya. It is one of the remarkable results of the research that there is an emphasis on security in the ranking of satisfaction perception. According to the findings obtained as a result of the T-test and ANOVA, there is a significant difference in the perceptions of resident foreigners regarding only the facilities and services dimension of the quality of urban life according to education level, retirement status and nationality; According to age groups, there is a significant difference in the perceptions of resident foreigners regarding facilities and services, and environmental factors dimensions of the quality of urban life. It has been determined that the perceptions of resident foreigners regarding the environmental factors, social aspects and personal status of people of the quality of urban life show a significant difference according to the time lived in Alanya. On the other hand, it was determined that the perceptions of resident foreigners regarding the dimensions of the quality of urban life did not show a significant difference according to gender, marital status and working status.
