Vandalism in urban green areas: possible design solutions in the case of Antalya

In this study, it was tried to set a casual relation by calling attention to the existence of vandalism in urban green area in the case of Antalya. It was examined to prevent the possible solution or it was possible or not to minimize the financial losses, time, material and labor force for the Breakdowns that emerged after the application. Work field is consist from Muratpaşa Municipality that was in the border of Antalya city center, Konyaaltı Municipality and Kepez Municipality that under the responsibility of Nayla Atay Park, Aydın Kanza Park, Konyaaltı Beach Park, Çamlıbel District Park and Gazi Boulevard Park. Urban equipment elements that were in the chosen five park from five different district ( benches, lighting elements, picnic tables and dust bins) were observed through twelve months. Vandalism actions that were occurred were identified. In Spss-20 programme by applying ki-square and canonical correlation tests which were nonlinear, effects of the place of park, reinforcement type, material, colour and seasons in vandalism actions were determined . According to results different places of the parks didn't affect the vandalism actions and in entire it was understood that vandalism actions occurred. And also in occurring the vandalism actions material, colour, and type of reinforcement elements of reinforcement elements and it was understood that according to factors exposed to vandalism there were some significant differences.
