Abstract (EN)
Currently the basic energy demand around the world is satisfied by the fossil fuels, and almost all power plant around the world are relying this source of energy for producing electrical power. The frustrating point of the issue however is the limited amount of this energy source, making the search for finding new energy supply an urgent requirement. A solution to this problem is the use of solar photovoltaic system which has the advantage of providing clean and environmental friendly energy. Recently there has been a rising trend universally toward further research and practical application of solar systems. The main aim of the present dissertation was designing of a solar photovoltaic stand- alone and grid-connected system, customized for potential execution in Kirkuk (Iraq). Consistent with the study objective, the PV market study and component selection methodology together with site analysis to find the most appropriate location of deployment and PVsyst based simulation of solar system for achieving optimized configuration as well as levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) calculations were conducted
