Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the strengthening technique of shear deficient beams with U shape CFRP straps. Totally seven deficient shear reinforced beams one of which is a reference member were tested. Axis to axis distance (sf) of bonded CFRP straps on to beam web are chosen as 125 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm. End of the CFRP strap at three of the six strengthened beams were fixed with fan type CFRP anchorages. Experiment results were discussed by taking into account of the effects of axis to axis distance between CFRP straps and application of anchorages. Although CFRP straps improved the deficient shear strength of the beam, they can not prevent the shear failure. Ductile flexural behavior observed at the specimens at which CFRP anchorages were used.
