Abstract (EN)
Bow and arrow are the most ancient elements of Turkish culture and literature. These items, which are of vital importance as a means of war and hunting in historical Turkish tribes, were also used as a political symbol. Archery, which preserved its military quality and importance until the end of the rise of the Ottoman Empire, became a sports and entertainment vehicle with the spread of firearms. Especially since the 17th century, the tradition of writing an independent archery book has accelerated in order to prevent the forgetting of archery and encourage it to continue. We aimed to contribute to the traditional Turkish archery literature with the transcription and translation studies we carried out in the work named Kevserü'l-hayât ve Mücellâi'r-rumât, which is one of the representatives of this tradition in the 19th century, and to shed light on the sound, form, spelling and style features of the 19th century Ottoman Turkish with grammatical analysis. Key Words: Kevserü'l-hayât ve Mücellâi'r-rumât, Tradational Archery, Ottoman Languange, Linguistic
