Özet (EN)
The purpose of this thesis called "A Group of Work of Sculpture from Kibyra" is the typological and iconographical identification of the work of sculptures found during the excavations until today. Kibyra, which was a big, significant city in Kabalia or Kibyratis region then, is now situated on the southwestern of Burdur province, within the borders of Gölhisar district. The city was a crossing point between different cultures, such as Karia, Phrygia, Lydia, Pisidia and Lycia, during the Roman Imperial Period. The excavations in the city shows some traces dated Hellenistic Period, but it is understood that Kibyra had lived its golden age during the Roman Imperial Period. The sculptures in thesis bear some similarities to those in Anatolian cities and in the museums in Europe. The sculptures shown in the thesis belong to gods and goddesses, heroi (heros), figures of both woman and man, and some are pieces of heads, feet, and hands. The findings under the title in the third chapter, "Works of Sculpture of Kibyra", forms the main subject. Out of each works' technical information and detailed identifications, some argumental and date suggestions are made. These works are tried to be dated in the contexts that they were found in during the excavations. The dating of the works are made in style-critic method. Furthermore, there is no certain evidence found that shows the continuation of sculpturing in the city. As a result of the researching and examining the sculptures it is found that the city's art activity was very rich, in both number and quality, in the 1st and 2nd century BC. Keywords: Kibyra, Kibyratis, Sculpture, God and Goddess, Hero.
