Architectural ornaments of Kibyra

Within the scope of this study, the architecture of the public buildings was recounted and specified the ornamental architectural components of these constructions, following the first chapter in which city history and location were indicated with the researches that have been done so far. No further research has been done about the architectural ornaments that compose our study and no excavation work in most constructions has been started yet, thus this situation brought along some burden in dating and analyzing the architecture of the constructions exactly. Beyond any doubt, new data and new suggestions along with it will be emerged about the architecture of the constructions, which were evaluated with limited data since the excavation has not been started yet. Therefore, while making suggestions about the dating and the architecture of the constructions, certain statements were avoided. In typological property part, it was examined that how many branched the architectural superstructure components and where they were intensively used, under the title of stylistic features, the blocks of buildings were investigated of stylistics properties. In ornamental property part, by forming subtitles as lesbos kymation, bead and reel, egg and dart, ranke, palmette decorations, the places where the ornaments were used in the city; then the architectural materials were and also under the title of conclusion, the general structuring process within the city and the ornamental styles that the city was affected were evaluated.
