Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine the change of seasonal nutrient contents of leaf and leaf + shoots of the evergreen; Kermes oak (Quercus coccifera L.),Mock privet (Phillyrea latifolia L.),Wild olive (Olea europea var. oleaster L.) and decidious; Christ's thorn (Palirus spina-christi Mill.),Terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus L.),Styrax tree (Styrax officinalis L.) species naturally growing in Kilis ecological conditions in 2014.Research was conducted using a completely randomized block design with four replications. The crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), acid detergent lignin (ADL), dry matter digestibility (DMD), digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME) and relative feed value (RFV) of the examined materials were determined. Results showed that the chemical compositions of maquis species were significiantly different (P<0.01) among the species, seasons and fodder samples. With respect to all the studied properties, while the highest nutritional values were obtained from Terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus L.), the lowest values were determined in Kermes oak (Quercus coccifera L.).In our present study, it was determined that the ratios of CP, DMD, DE, ME and RFV decreased, and NDF, ADF and ADL contents increased depending on maturity. The desired nutritional values of the leaf samples were also found higher than the leaf + shoots samples. As a result, it was revealed that the maqius species could be used for livestock feeding in terms of nutritional contents.
