Abstract (EN)

The use of roofs, dating back to very old times, is widespread in areas where the climate is low and dry in summer. In cases where the houses are insufficient, it is a functional place that meets the needs. As with everything that meets the need, it becomes a cultural structure over time. The roofs, which are a simple, natural and general structure that meet the needs of people's lives, such as food preparation, drying, stocking, cleaning, sitting, sleeping, having fun, looking after animals and growing plants, need to be closely identified, examined and taken as an example. The roofs are very important in ensuring cultural continuity. The purpose of this study is to reveal and record the history of the roof culture in Kilis region, to reveal the history of the past, to interpret its current state, to think about whether it will be inspired to solve today's urbanization problems by revealing its functional and useful team features. Protecting, keeping alive, recording, and instead of destroying the general forms that this culture has created, it is important to protect its social identity. By reaching nearly one hundred people, the place and functions of the roof on the people of Kilis are explained with concrete examples. In this tailor, it has been observed that the cultural buildings are determined by the needs, and the roofed houses are the transition phase from the village life to the current city life, like the family apartments that provide the culture to live.
