Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to develop, implement and evaluate the results of the argumentation-based activities for the Science Teacher Education students to learn the Chemical Equilibrium and micro-world. The research was designed in the form of an action survey. The sample of the research is composed of 33 teacher candidates who are studying in the program of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Faculty of Education, Science Education in the spring semester of 2015-2016 academic year. The study lasts for 5 weeks as 4 hours of lessons each week. In the study 14 different activities were developed. While the quantitative data were collected by applying 'Chemical Equilibrium Academic Achievement Test' and 'Chemical Equilibrium Micro Earth Comprehension Test' as pre-test and post-test to all teacher candidates, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with conceptual meaning and process with 12 teacher candidates selected at the end of the study. The dependent group t-test was used to evaluate the quantitative data. Qualitative data were evaluated by content analysis. According to analysis findings of quantitative data; the significant increase in the achievement of teacher candidates in understanding academic achievements and events in the micro-world is seen in the study. When the interviews about the conceptual meaning are examined; it has been seen that the vast majority of teacher candidates provide accurate answers to the questions asked, explain the causes of their answers in detail and correctly and support their answers with the correct drawings they have made. From the interviews conducted on the process; the activities, the group works, the opposing arguments created within the scope of the activities were effective in learning the micro-world subject of chemical equilibrium for the teacher candidates. This study is concluded with the suggestion, simulation development studies focused on argumentation, which embodies the events taking place in the micro world can be done.
