Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to compare the effects of computer aided education and laboratory aided education on student success. The data of this work has been taken from 77 High school 3rd grade students in Gazi High School. The work has been done in 2003-2004 Spring Semester. The "Pre test- post test" control group design has been used in the work. As a preliminary test, a logical thinking test which checks mental development level, a scientific calculation capability test which checks scientific calculation capacity, a general chemistry test which checks the background of students on the subject has been given. The data group of this work has been divided arbitrarily into two groups called experimental and control groups. Control group has been given lectures using laboratory technique and the experimental group has been given lectures preparedwith Macromedia Flash 5 program using computer aided technique. Both groups were given 9 experiments. After the procedure, another chemistry test has been given to the group to see the results and effects of both techniques on success of students. SPSS and Sigma Plot statistical package programs have been used to check the hypothesis of this work. The results have shown that there is significant difference between the successes of the students who have taken laboratory aided education and the success of those who have taken computer aided education. Furthermore, it has shown that, between the logical thinking and scientific calculation capabilities and background of students for two groups are not any difference of them significantly. Results show that, computer aided education is as effective as laboratory education in some subjects. Regarding to the results we can conclude that computer aided education can be used as an effective educational tool in class and it helps students develop their mental and perceptual behavior.
