Abstract (EN)

In this study, the antioxidant effects of the newly synthesised benzofuran substituted α - β unsaturated ketone derivative compounds which was not subjected to any biological activity test before, was investigated in vitro on Saccharomyces cerevisiae under anaerobic conditions. In the study lipid peroxidation (LPO), fatty acid levels, the lipophilic vitamin values, protein and glutathione concentrations and MDA levels were measured. For this purpose, Fenton 's reagent ( FR) and the organic substance containing groups were used as the control. According to our findings when DPPH free radical scavenging effect of the organic matters were compared; D5 and D6 coded substances have significantly higher radical cleaning ability than others. When the activities were compared in terms of increasing concentrations of these groups; D5, D6 and D8 coded substances have significantly higher DPPH radical cleaning ability (p< 0.001). When the effects of the substance groups on the LPO were compared to control in vitro, D5 and D8 coded substances reduced the amount of MDA significantly (p<0.001). D1, D2, D5, D7, D9, D8, D10, D11 have shown remarkable level of increase in the amount of ergosterol (p<0,001) which may assist the studies of increasing the synthesis of ergosterol from yeast and thus supports that they are important in biotechnology field.
