Kinesthetic learning and religious education

Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (RCMK) courses and RCMK textbooks in primary education (primary school 4th grade and secondary school 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades). The study group of this research on kinesthetic learning style, which is one of the learning styles and is a way of learning based on movement, touch and more practice, consists of 30 students consisting of 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students studying in public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in Muş province in the 2024-2025 academic year, selected by convenience sampling, and 15 RCMK teachers. The object of study of the research was determined as the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade RCM textbooks at the primary education level in the 2024-2025 academic year, which are being taught in public schools affiliated to the MoNE. In the research, the case study model, one of the qualitative data analysis methods, was preferred. In the process of collecting the qualitative data of the research, the textbooks to be used in the research were examined by document analysis method. In addition, "Personal Information Form", "Semi-structured Teacher Interview Form" and "Semi-structured Student Interview Form" developed by the researcher were used. MAXQDA 2020 package program was used in the analysis and evaluation of qualitative data. According to the results obtained from the opinions of primary school students in the research; it was determined that students want more activities based on movement in which they will actively participate in the lesson, they think that the RCMK course is an understandable lesson, learning styles are effective in the student's teaching process, and the teacher's attitude and approach to the student are effective in understanding the lesson. According to the results obtained from the opinions of the RCMK teachers in the research; the physical conditions of the classrooms should be improved, acting in accordance with student styles, recognizing the individual differences and learning styles of students, teachers should have knowledge about student styles and reorganize the teaching process and the way the lesson is taught,teachers should be able to produce activities in accordance with the styles of students, lessons should be made fun and provide permanent learning, teachers should use different methods and techniques in the lesson. According to the results obtained by examining the RCMK textbooks in the study, it was determined that there were a total of 87 kinesthetic instructions for kinesthetic learning style in the kinesthetic instructions of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade RCMK textbooks. Based on the results of the study, suggestions such as creating activities based on kinesthetic learning style in RCMK textbooks in line with the wishes of teachers and students, developing teaching materials based on movement to be used in RCMK lessons, and developing measurement tools to comprehensively measure the learning styles of students were developed.
