Özet (EN)

Phthalocyanines (Pcs) are the most interesting and important compounds studied in coordination chemistry due to their ongoing widespread use today. They are used in many fields such as fuel cells, laser technology, liquid crystal, optical data storage, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and electrophotography. The quinoline molecule shows very interesting chemical and electronic properties due to its large π-electronic structure and the presence of N atom in the ring system. Owing to these properties, it has been widely investigated in the biological studies and material science. Quinoline-substituted Pcs also show luminescence properties. In the present study, the phthalonitrile, 4-(8-oxoquinoline)phthalonitrile was synthesized from the reaction of 4-nitrophthalonitrile with 8-hyroxyquinoline. The corresponding four new metallophthalocyanines containing 8-hydroxyquinoline at the peripheral positions were synthesized by the cyclotetramerization of the phthalonitrile in the presence of the metal salts, such as CoCI2 (2), ZnCI2 (3) ve CuCI2 (4), respectively, and finally characterized.
