Abstract (EN)
The study was carried out in a breeder conditions in Iğdır the year of 2016. The objective of the study was to determine the effects of flower thinning with chemicals and plant growth substances on the fruit quality in the '0900-Ziraat' sweet cherry cultivar grafted onto Gisela-5 rootstock. Besides control sweet cherry trees were sprayed fish oil 2%, wettable suphur 4%, lime sulphur (1.30) 3%, ammonium thiosulphate (ATS) 2%, cupper 0.5%, GA3 90 ppm and NAA 35 ppm. Control were sprayed only water. Chemicals and hormones were applied with a hand sprayer. The experiment was set up based on completely randomized desing arragment with three replications. After thinnig aplication on flowers, fruits harvested at commmercially ripe stage the first week of June, 2016. Samples collected each replication unite for each application and transported immadiately to laboratory. Some fruit quality parameter were investigated such as fruit weight, fruit width, fruit height, fruit length, cherry stalk weight, cherry stalk length, seed weight, colour (L*, a*, b*), fruit hardiness, titratable acidity (TA), total soluble solid (TSS), pH, vitamin C and total sugar in the study. Hormone and chemical applications significantly affected some quality parameters such as fruit weight, seed weight, fruit height, fruit width, fruit, fruit length, hardiness, TA, TSS and pH. According to results the fish oil application gave the heaviest fruist with 10.72 g value. In addition, GA3 application gave the hardest fruit with 344.70 g value when compared to the control.
